SLip Connect is a faster, smarter upgrade to the standard xConnect connector used throughout the xLights community. It keeps full xConnect compatibility while dramatically reducing install time, frustration, and ladder profanity.

This is not 3D printed. SLip Connect is injection molded from black ASA plastic, making it UV-resistant, durable, and built for outdoor abuse.

SLip Connect maintains a fully watertight connection by continuing to use the existing xConnect O-ring. Nothing about the sealing surface changes, and no additional gaskets or sealants are required.

The result is the same proven weather resistance xConnect is known for—rain, snow, and outdoor exposure—just with a much faster and more secure connection method.

- Slide-On Design (No Rewiring)

A unique slot allows SLip Connect to slide over existing xConnect cables. No cutting, no re-terminating, no adapters.

- Rock-Solid Locking Strength

During tensile testing, the wire failed before the connector did.
If you’re curious (or reckless), cables break at roughly 65 lb of tension. The connector stays locked. Do with that information what you will.

- No More Runaway Nuts

The connector securely attaches to the connector body rather than being loose on the cable like the standard securing nut.
No more watching it slide down the cable while you’re on a ladder questioning your life choices.

- Outdoor-Ready

Injection molded ASA black plastic provides excellent UV resistance and durability for permanent outdoor displays.

⚠️ Not compatible with some caps or tees that do not have a rear step on the connector body behind the threads.

How It Installs

1. Slide SLip Connect over the existing cable using the side slot
2. Position it against the connector body
3. Tighten the original xConnect nut onto SLip Connect
4. Connect to the male end
5. Slide the locking collar forward

That’s it. Faster, cleaner, and less annoying.

Designed for the xLights Community by the community

SLip Connect started with Sean Rossall complaining (fairly) about the standard xConnect connector. After having an idea for how to solve this problem by utilizing the standard xConnect and designing the proof of concept, Sean helped shape the design through multiple iterations, pointing out what sucked and what actually mattered in real installs. The result is a connector that fixes the annoyances without breaking xConnect compatibility.

SLip Connect was built for people who install lots of connections and are tired of wasting time on something that should be simple.

Once you use it, going back to standard xConnects feels like punishment.
